Lists the engine sheds of the hull and barnsley railway. The name was changed to the hull and barnsley railway (h&br) in 1905. the station was a wooden structure and its facilities included a locomotive shed to house the branch tank locomotive. this was destroyed by fire. originally there was no connection with the m.s.& l. r. line, this was not put in place until great central .. A generation of enthusiasts recorded the movements of locomotives around the railway system. these records of visits to locomotive depots have been collected and carefully analysed to provide an overall portrait for the period 1943 to 1968..
Royston and notton railway station was opened in 1841 by the north midland railway, near the yorkshire summit of the line, on the south side of navvy lane bridge. the original station was rebuilt, about a mile further south, in 1900 when the lines were quadrupled..
